Gender and Sexuality Equity

GSET Mission: The mission of the Gender and Sexuality Equity Team is to facilitate policy, procedural, and cultural changes at Butte College and to advocate for safe, affirming, and intersectional campus spaces for all LGBTQIA2S+ students, staff, and faculty.   

Some of our Projects:

  • Support and promote the Queer Resource Center and their events.

  • Allowing students, faculty, staff to be able to select and use a chosen name.

  • Offering faculty and staff training, including Safe Zone and Queer Affirming Materials workshops.

  • Work with IDEA officer to create a process for individuals to bring forward issues and recommendations.

  • Increase student participation and queer faculty and staff involvement in creating safe, affirming, and intersectional campus spaces.
